Joan Berkowitz, Esq.

Joan Berkowitz has been handling bankruptcy cases since 1996. She graduated from the University of Akron in 1992 where she received her B.S. in Political Science and Ohio Northern University for her law degree. While in law school she clerked for the Honorable Theodore Schneiderman in the Common Pleas of Summit County, Ohio.

Immediately after graduation Ms. Berkowitz moved to St. Petersburg where she passed the Florida Bar exam in 1995.

After working in the areas of insurance defense, bankruptcy and criminal defense, Ms. Berkowitz opened her own practice in 1997.

Since then she has been a member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association, Tampa Bay Bankruptcy Bar Association, Leadership St. Pete (class of 2001), and Business and Professional Women of St. Pete/ Pinellas where she is serving a second term as Treasurer. She is admitted to practice law in all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
